Software Support Services

The use of advanced nonlinear analysis software can sometimes be more of an art than a science. In developing a numerical model of a structure, myriad decisions must be made regarding:

  • Type and density of elements used
  • Representation of loads and support conditions
  • Material characterization
  • Selection of behavior models and analysis options
  • Convergence criteria and numerical stability
  • Visualization and interpretation of results.

How these decisions are made will have a major impact on the results obtained, particularly with reinforced concrete where interactions between the concrete and reinforcement create many second-order mechanisms that have a major influence on calculated strength and behavior.

As well, as with any sophisticated software, there may be more immediate difficulties relating to the installation, setup and use of the software.

VecTor Analysis Group personnel is available, on a contracted basis, for consultations on setup and use of the VecTor software. To discuss how we can help you, contact us at [email protected].
